Nomadic Data Access

WaveRider Nomadic Data Access systems are field deployable wireless access networks that are portable and deliver user mobility while supporting over 3 times as many subscribers per base station compared with our competition. Operating in the 900 MHz ISM band, the Nomadic Data Access systems offer cost-effective solutions for delivering high-speed voice and data services wherever constant, reliable communications are required.
Nomadic Data Access enables Ethernet connections to up to 100 nomadic and/or fixed terminals per base terminal, with up to 2 Mbps peak over the air data transfer rates. With the addition of optional components, the WaveRider MMT9000 also has the capability to provide telephone service via an IP PBX, as well as security video and short message text services. The MMT9000 may be used with the MBT9000 nomadic base station terminal to set up ad hoc networks.
WaveRider Nomadic Data Access Systems:
- 900 MHz PoE Base Station (CCU8000)
- 900 MHz Nomadic Wireless Base Station (MBT9000)
- 900 MHz Nomadic Wireless Terminal (MMT9000)
900 MHz PoE Base Station (CCU8000)
Wireless Internet service providers are now able to deliver higher speeds to meet the growing bandwidth requirements of business and residential subscribers. The CCU8000 is backward compatible with the WaveRider Plug ‘n Play indoor subscriber station (EUM3005), the ruggedized outdoor integrated station (EUM3006) and the nomadic mobile station (MMT9000) for true investment protection.

- Multiple Data Rates — automatically selects the highest rate achievable for the distance
- Operates in unlicensed 902 to 928 MHz band
- Choice of forwarding modes: routed, switched, thru-only
- QoS supporting VoIP
- Industry standard interfaces and management
- LOS range up to 25 miles; NLOS range up to 5 miles
- Web-based Graphical User Interface
- Backward compatibility with EUM3005, EUM3006 and MMT9000
Features:
High-Speed OFDM Modulation Schemes
The multiple modulation schemes based on Orthogonal Frequency Division Multiplexing are ideal in non-line-of-sight and highly multipath radio environments for robust and spectrum efficient communications over different channel conditions and ranges.
Wide Variety of Outdoor Antennas
Superior performance through a variety of outdoor tower antennas enables the CCU8000 to generate a maximum permissible average transmit power of +36 dBm EIRP. Select between omni or sector, horizontal or vertical polarization to optimize RF performance.
Non-Line-of-Sight Capabilities
The CCU8000 is the ideal solution for areas with heavy tree coverage or other line-of-sight barriers. Developed specifically for the 900 MHz spectrum, the system delivers non-line-of-sight (NLOS) connections averaging 5 miles to the EUM8000 integrated outdoor modem.
High Capacity
The fully scalable CCU8000 supports significantly more subscribers than the legacy CCU3100. WaveRider’s Dynamic Polling MAC, which provides the most efficient channel use in the industry, enables Grade-of-Service controls that permit operators to confidently provide high access speeds and low latencies for their customers.
Adaptive Modulation
The WaveRider CCU8000 supports a range of modulations with signaling rates of 1.5 to 13.5 Mbps and user access speeds up to 8 Mbps. It dynamically adapts to transmit the highest sustainable rate for each of its links to the subscriber modems.
Advanced Management Features
The WaveRider CCU8000 supports RADIUS AAA with specific extended attributes. It supports SNMP monitoring and PPPoE to allow operators to easily manage large numbers of subscribers on a single system.
900 MHz Nomadic Wireless Base Station (MBT9000)
The MBT9000 is a 12-volt DC-powered nomadic wireless base station that delivers high speed voice and data services wherever constant, reliable communications are required. The 900 MHz DC-powered MBT9000 is a cost effective and compact base station ideal for rapid deployment systems such as emergency response, disaster relief and construction projects. The MBT9000 proprietary Dynamic Polling MAC reduces over-the-air packet collision, increasing effective througput and provides high capacity point to multipoint secured wireless connections.
The MBT9000 has a fully configurable packet priority feature allowing network administrators to support VoIP and data networks effectively.
Highlights:
- Signaling rates of 2.75 Mbps and access speeds of 2 Mbps
- Supports voice, video and data communications
- Enables end-user mobility; suitable for in-vehicle installations
- Extended temperature range of -40°C to 50°C
- Superior 900 MHz non-line-of-sight performance
- Reliable and easy to deploy
- Compatible with WaveRider LMS4000 900 MHz systems
- Certified with WaveRider vehicle antenna WR302-9000, various vehicle mounts available
Features:
Solar or DC-Powered
The nomadic, 12-volt base MBT9000 Nomadic Wireless Base Station is ideal for solar or DC-powered sites.
Complementary Services
The MBT9000 complements mobile private radio networks that are currently in use for public safety, utility, military and other applications by addressing the need for high-speed data.
Compact Form Factor
The MBT9000 has a compact form factor for easy vehicular installation and is designed for use with a variety of mobile and fixed antennas. Set-up and configuration is rapid and simple.
Base Station Nomadic Roaming
The MBT9000 can search the full RF frequency range or select from a defined list to locate MBT9000 base terminals or CCU access points. It then selects the base terminal with the best RF signal and authorization permission. With this and DCHP Client enabled (factory defaults), the installer does not need to enter ANY configuration parameters into the MMT9000 in order to install it.
