Jeffrey W. Hayzlett

Chief Marketing Officer and Vice President
Eastman Kodak Company

Jeffrey Hayzlett serves as the chief marketing officer and vice president, Eastman Kodak Company, reporting to Kodak chairman and CEO Antonio M. Perez. As CMO, Mr. Hayzlett is responsible for the company's worldwide marketing operations including the design and implementation of all marketing strategies, investments, policies, and processes. He leads the company's efforts for strategy and planning, marketing programs, marketing network operations, brand development and management, business development, and corporate sponsorships. He is also responsible for the company's corporate communications, public relations and public affairs organizations. Kodak’s board of directors elected him a corporate vice president in October 2007.

Jeffrey speaks frequently around the world on business growth, communications, and marketing, including keynotes at THE Conference on Marketing, the Direct Marketing Association Leadership Forum, the National Postal Forum, the Canadian Marketing Association's National Convention and Trade Show, and Print Oasis. He is cited as a leading marketing expert in numerous books, magazines, and newspapers worldwide, and is a frequent television guest and commentator, having appeared on shows including CNBC's The Big Idea with Donny Deutsch, Fox Business News, and NBC's Celebrity Apprentice with Donald Trump.

He has received numerous global awards and honors, including the Frost & Sullivan Lifetime Achievement Award for marketing. He was named "Business to Business Marketer of the Year" by BtoB Magazine and "Direct Marketer of the Year" by the University of Akron Taylor Institute for Direct Marketing. In 2008, Jeffrey was inducted into the College of Business Administration Direct Marketers Hall of Fame. In June 2009, he was awarded the prestigious "G.D. Crain Jr. Award for Marketing Excellence" at the Business Marketing Association's annual meeting. Previously, the U.S. Small Business Association named him "Entrepreneur of the Year."

In the graphic arts industry, Jeffrey has been honored as the International Business Person of the Year Award by the International Printers' Network (IPN); received The British Association for Print and Communication (BAPC) Honorary Life Member award; was given the National Association of Quick Printing (NAQP) Industry Award of Distinction; and most recently was awarded the prestigious Earl I. Sundeen Award from the International Graphic Arts Education Association (IGAEA).

Jeffrey is past chairman of the board of directors of the Business Marketing Association (BMA), a member of the board of directors of the Electronic Document Systems Foundation (EDSF), a member of the advisory board of the CMO Council, and is a member of the advisory board of the BPM Forum. He is chairman of the Sales and Marketing Executives International (SMEI) Foundation for Marketing Education, and is a permanent trustee to the SMEI Academy of Achievement Sales and Marketing Hall of Fame. He is also a two-term past chairman of SMEI. Jeffrey remains a trustee of Pi Sigma Epsilon National Education Foundation, an international sales and marketing fraternity.

Jeffrey has nearly 25 years of international marketing, sales, and customer relations management experience. He joined Kodak in April 2006 as chief marketing officer and vice president of the Graphic Communications Group (GCG). In this role, he was responsible for leading all marketing activities for the business, including product positioning, segment marketing, branding, marketing communications, customer development, business research, marketing strategy, and business development activity. He became chief business development officer in September 2007 and was responsible for brand development and management, market development, corporate and product public relations, communications and public affairs, corporate sponsorships, business development, corporate relationships and partnerships, and marketing.

Prior to joining Kodak, he led a private business development and public relations firm specializing in the technology and visual communications industries. He also held senior management positions in strategic business development and marketing at several companies, including Cenveo, Webprint and Colorbus, Inc., and served in staff positions in the United States Senate and House of Representatives.

Bernie Arnason
Managing Partner, Pivot Media LLC

Bernie brings 15 years of telecom experience to Pivot Media, where he provides strategic direction and leadership. Bernie follows the telecom industry closely and conducts industry research and analysis, provides strategic consulting for clients, and cultivates insightful telecom mindshare. Bernie is also the managing editor of Telecompetitor, a leading telecom industry blog focused on the evolving telecom competitive landscape. Past accomplishments include co-founding the TelcoTV Conference and Expo, which he also chairs. Bernie is a frequent speaker and panelist at regional and national telecom events. He is also a principal with Pivot Media’s sister company, Pivot Group, a strategic marketing consulting and research firm serving individual telecom carriers.

Prior to Pivot, Bernie spent seven years with the NTCA as the vice president of business development where he led a team responsible for working with telecom carriers to identify and act upon telecom business and technology developments. Prior to NTCA, Bernie worked for Bell Atlantic (now Verizon) in network operations, where he led a team in the large business/special services group. Bernie has a comprehensive understanding of the telecom industry and brings a wealth of knowledge in IPTV, broadband, wireless and next generation telecom strategies. Bernie holds a master's in telecommunications from the Johns Hopkins University.

 

 

Robert O'Dell
President/CEO, SecurityCoverage

Robert O’Dell was one of Iowa’s first certified security professionals (CISSP) and founder of the Eastern Iowa ISSA (Information Systems Security Association) chapter. His unique skill set and vision for product development has led SecurityCoverage to the forefront of the international Internet security industry and has helped define world class technical support.

Before founding SecurityCoverage, Bob worked as the information security officer for AEGON USA Finance and Insurance Companies. As AEGON’s information security officer, Bob was responsible for the development of enterprise-wide security services including security architecture and consulting, education and training, technology infrastructure management, security reporting, and security policy management.
Prior to AEGON Bob was director of product management for Novell, Inc. with direct responsibility for many of Novell’s Internet security products.

A native of Iowa, Bob earned his bachelor's from the University of Iowa.

 

Jack Weixel
Head of Service Provider Markets - Enterprise, Google Inc

Jack Weixel is Head of Service Provider Markets - Enterprise for Google Inc.  His background includes over 25 years of executive leadership in the software industry, much of it focused with the Service Provider space.  He was also the founder of Bluetrain, Inc., one of the industry's first Cloud Computing companies.  In addition to extensive experience in the North American and European markets, Jack spent two years in Sydney, Australia as Managing Director, Asia Pacific Operations for Candle Corporation, giving him a unique global perspective on the industry.

 

Curtis Knobloch
Chief Executive Officer, Telispire

Curtis’ telecommunications management and operational experience includes wireless voice and data, video, long distance, paging and Internet services. He has chaired the Network Interoperability Committee for the Rural Cellular Association since 1993 and is a past member of the Chief Technical Officer committee for the Cellular Telecommunication and Internet Association. He holds a bachelor's of business administration from Midwestern State University and a master's of business administration from the University of North Texas.

 

 Levoy Knowles
General Manager & Chief Executive Officer, Ben Lomand Communications

Levoy has worked for Ben Lomand Communications, Inc. for more than 25 years, where he has served as general manager and chief executive officer for nearly 20 years. Ben Lomand Telephone currently provides ILEC service to over 36,500 customers in middle Tennessee, along with nearly 8,000 CLEC customers in three markets. Levoy is a graduate of Tennessee Technological Unversity where he received a bachelor of science degree in business administration and later his CPA certificate. He is a member of state and national CPA associations. Levoy serves on several boards of directors, including: ANPI; RICA; First National Bank of McMinnville, Tennessee; United Regional Medical Center of Manchester, Tennessee; and McMinnville-Warren County Industrial Development. He is president-elect of the Rotary.

  

Chris Rothlis
Chief Technology Officer, ANPI

Chris Rothlis, an industry veteran with nearly 30 years of telecommunications experience, is ANPI's chief technical officer. Chris oversees technology evaluation, selection, deployment, ongoing provisioning, maintenance of transmission systems, IP networking and IP switching.

Prior to joining ANPI, Chris served as the chief technology officer at Cypress Communications. While at Cypress, Chris staffed and managed an organization that delivered a nationwide VoIP product targeted at small-to-medium enterprise businesses. At PointOne, an enhanced services VoIP provider, Chris was the vice president of network engineering where he managed the creation of business and residential VoIP product sets. As vice president of engineering and network operations at Broadwing Communications, Chris oversaw the deployment of the nation's only all-optical network. Chris held senior positions in engineering and software development while at MCI where he helped deploy several of the company's most profitable products, including 1-800-COLLECT and Operator Services. Most recently, Chris created a consulting company, Telespective, LLC, from which he provided consulting services to companies such as CenturyTel.

Chris served four years in the United States Air Force, and he earned a bachelors of science in business administration from Regis University, Denver, CO, where he graduated summa cum laude.

 

 

Buddy Vaughan
Chief Strategy Officer, ENMR Plateau

Buddy Vaughan serves as chief strategy officer for ENMR•Plateau. He began working at ENMR in 1982 as a summer job while attending college. He joined ENMR full-time in 1987 as a computer operator and held various positions in the IT department before being promoted to his current position in 2001. 

As chief strategy officer, Buddy and his group focus on long-term planning, technology and vendor evaluations, business plans and project management.

In July 2007, his responsibilities grew to managing Plateau Telecommunications, a subsidiary of ENMR. Plateau focuses on selling phone systems, network cabling, Fiber to the Premise, Internet, long distance and transport services.

 

 Jeff Ames
Chief Technical Officer, Switch Communications

Jeff Ames is chief technical officer and an original member of Switch Communications Group, LLC. Switch Communication is the premier data center and Network Access Point (NAP) service and design company, as well as, owners/operators of the SuperNAP facility in Las Vegas, Nevada  www.switchnap.com .

During the 80’s Jeff worked with the electro-optic and photonic efforts for the Department of Energy in support of Lawrence Livermore Labs and the Nevada Test Site: Jeff was field administrator for the photonics research team responsible for the diagnostics and data acquisition of specialized weapons testing. After leaving the government sector, Jeff ran a program to expand a small emerging technology companies in Nevada in conjunction with the Small Business Administration. Jeff participated in designing and integrating information systems for high-tech environments such as Motorola, DOE, and DOT, US Bureau of Reclamation, Department of Forestry and Lawrence Livermore Laboratory.

In 1993 Jeff formed the first internet service provider (ISP) in Nevada, and established some of the first high-bandwidth services to many governmental and commercial organizations in the Southwest. Jeff sat on the first VAR advisory council for Netscape, helped several ISP’s and web productions companies get started.

Jeff wrote the City of North Las Vegas Fiber Infrastructure plan, was manager of the broadband R&D Lab and Methods and Procedures Program at a national CLEC, served Sierra Pacific Communications (SPC) as director of customer engineering services and new business development, and also worked with Cox Communications in the Business Services division.

Jeff chairs several Technology Advancement and Advisory Boards and supports several non-profit organizations and commercial companies technical programs.  Jeff has been married and has lived in Las Vegas for over 27 years.  He has four adult children and seven grandchildren. He is an active member of his church and several community service organizations.

 

Ed Moise
Managing Partner, Alpina Capital

Ed Moise is a founding member of Alpina Capital. His experience has included working in environments as varied as Fortune 500 companies and start-up firms. As US Unwired’s Treasurer, Ed led major transactions to acquire and divest wireless companies, wireless licenses, and hundreds of communication towers. Since, he and the Alpina team have assisted rural telecommunications companies to raise capital, restructure debt, monetize non-core assets, and sell ILEC and wireless operations. 

Ed has a master's of business administration degree from the University of Michigan and is a cum laude graduate of Tulane University with a bachelor's in mathematical economics and a bachelor's in English. He holds his Series 7, 63 and 24 licenses.

 

Craig Freeman
General Manager, Simmetry Communications
Craig Freeman has been the General Manager of Simmetry Communications, a wholly owned subsidiary of Adams Telephone Cooperative, since 2004. Prior to that Craig managed the competitive services for Adams Telephone Cooperative, including CLEC, long distance, internet and cable television operations. Simmetry Communications is a GSM carrier in west-central Illinois and northeast Missouri. Simmetry operates a GSM/EDGE network with 50+ sites covering just over 250,000 pops.

 

 Judi Langholz
Vice President of Product Support, Iowa Network Services, Inc.

Judi Langholz is the vice president of product support at Iowa Network Services. Product managers, the marketing group and the customer service areas comprise the product support department. Judi brings to her position over 17 years experience in education and computer technology. Judi has been in her current position at INS for six years and with the company for 17 years, previously working in the netINS Internet division.
